Snow And Sleet Hit Western Md. Mountains
CUMBERLAND, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say ice and sleet are making driving treacherous in the mountains of far western Maryland.
Maryland State Police in McHenry reported many accidents late Wednesday morning on Interstate 68, and the Garrett County Sheriff's Office reports heavy ice and sleet on some county roads.
The National Weather Service announced a winter weather advisory for the region Wednesday morning, to be followed by heavy rain with possible flooding through Thursday afternoon.
