ANN ARBOR, Mich. (AP) -- Evan Smotrycz has decided where he's going to play basketball next season.
Smotrycz announced on his Twitter account Monday that he's heading to the University of Maryland.
The 6'9", 235-pound forward said he was leaving Michigan's program earlier this month.
Smotrycz averaged 7.7 points and 4.9 rebounds as a sophomore last season, starting the first 18 games and coming off the bench for the final 16 games. He scored 15 points -- making 6 of 7 shots, including a pair of 3-pointers -- in an NCAA tournament loss to Ohio.
Smotrycz, from Reading, Mass., averaged 6.3 points as a freshman and started in 24 of 35 games.
