Board Approves Water Plant Upgrade At Slots Site
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- The Board of Public Works has approved upgrading the water treatment plant at Rocky Gap State Park supplies drinking water to the lodge.
The board voted 3-0 on Wednesday to approve a proposed contract worth $248,000 to design and build a new plant. The project would be overseen by Watek Engineering Corp. of Silver Spring.
Companies interested in operating a slots parlor at Rocky Gap have until Sept. 23 to submit proposals to the state gaming commission.
The commission hopes to award a license in December.
