Silver Spring Movie Theater Evacuated After Bomb Threat
SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) -- A bomb threat forced the evacuation of hundreds from a movie theater in downtown Silver Spring.
Montgomery County police said Sunday that the theater was evacuated Saturday night. The incident happened after 9 p.m., and theater patrons were allowed back inside the theater about an hour later.
Some theater customers said the evacuation was orderly, but there was no explanation from the theater staff or police.
One movie patron, Jeremy Rosner, told The Washington Post he was watching the movie "Gravity" when the screen suddenly went black. He says no one heard from the theater staff.
After a few minutes, another customer came in and told the crowd that the building was being evacuated.
Police said they did not find any device or indication of danger.
