Serial Rapist From Hagerstown Charged In 1998 Case
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- A Hagerstown man convicted of sexually assaulting four women in two states while sometimes wearing a mask made from duct tape faces a new rape charge.
An indictment charging Pov Srun, 40, with first-degree rape in the attack of a woman near Smithsburg in 1998 was filed Friday in Washington County. His arraignment is set for June 30.
Prosecutors say his DNA matches evidence found on the woman's clothing. They allege he forced the victim at knifepoint to drive to a ballfield, where he raped her.
Srun is serving 35 years in Maryland for 2006 convictions of second-degree rape and first-degree sexual offense in Montgomery County.
He faces at least 34 and a half more years in Pennsylvania for raping two women in Franklin County, Pa., in 2004.
