Sentence Cut For Man Convicted In Mall Shooting
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- A judge has reduced the sentence of a man convicted of shooting two people in a mall food court.
Javaughn N. Adams, 26, was sentenced to 65 years in prison for the 2006 shootings in the food court of Westfield Annapolis mall. Adams, who was 18 at the time, had been convicted of two counts of attempted second-degree murder and numerous other charges.
The Capital of Annapolis reports that on Tuesday, Anne Arundel County Circuit Judge William C. Mulford II reduced Adams' sentence by 20 years after hearing about his good behavior in prison.
Adams' attorney said the inmate has attended college courses, worked in the kitchen and avoided gangs and any infractions while in prison.
