Scott Garceau: So Sorry, Mr. Kraft
What was I thinking? When I heard you say you'd expect the league to apologize to your entire team and in, particular coach Bill Belichick and Tom Brady for what they've had to endure it hit me hard. You know what Mr. Kraft, like you, it also bothers me greatly that the reputation and integrity of your team has been called into question.
Foolish me, for several days I was thinking there might be something to this. Remember a few years ago when Brady admitted he liked to throw under-inflated footballs, then AFC Championship game and 11 Patriots footballs under-inflated zero Colts footballs under-inflated my imagination ran wild.
Why didn't I listen to Brady last week when he told us he had no knowledge of any wrongdoing. I was very suspect when he said he couldn't tell the difference between the illegal balls in the first half and the properly inflated second half footballs. "It's not like I squeeze the football, I grip the football." You might think that a guy who's thrown a zillion passes could tell if a ball is 15 to 20 percent deflated and you might be wrong because Tom Brady grips it he doesn't squeeze it, duh!
Sorry, I thought there might be some shenanigans going on but I don't know coach and Tom like you do. When you seized that press conference mic and spilled your guts you brought tears to my eyes saying "Tom, Bill and I have been together for 15 years. They are my guys. They are part of my family; I have never known them to lie to me."
I love that family part, was thinking if you had a little more time you could have mentioned family member Aaron Hernandez and how much he's had to endure facing all those murder charges. You've been through a lot Mr. Kraft, I remember when the NFL fined you and coach Belichick $750,000 for simply taking pictures of opposing coaches and it was really piling on when they robbed you of the team's first round draft pick. Just for violating NFL rules!
I was going to pull for the Seahawks Sunday Mr. Kraft. Sure, Pete Carroll may have done some cheating at USC, Marshawn Lynch has a bad habit of clutching his crotch and Richard Sherman has verbal diarrhea, but they seem like a decent bunch especially their polite quarterback. I was going to pull for them but not after what you sir, coach Belichick and Tom Brady have been through. Enough is enough! Let me be the first to tell you how sorry I am for the pain you've endured.
In your 73 years (and girlfriend Ricki Noel's 34) I hope you've never been tortured like this. How could we be so blind to justice? Soon you can expect an apology from attorney Ted Wells, who is leading the investigation and his partner NFL executive vice president Jeff Pash. They'll catch on too and figure out you're the victim not the suspect.
Commissioner Goodell will then issue his apology and humbly ask "pretty please, Mr. Kraft can I still work for you." I hope Sunday is a Super one for you Mr. Kraft and thank you for showing us what your team is really all about. Go Patriots!
