School Bus Crashes With Car In Silver Spring
SILVER SPRING, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County fire and rescue personnel are responding to a crash involving a school bus in Silver Spring.
Fire department spokesman Capt. Oscar Garcia says rescuers were called to New Hampshire Avenue and Schindler Lane about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. Garcia says the school bus apparently collided with a passenger vehicle and then veered off and struck the corner of a vacant house.
Garcia says 33 elementary-school-age children were evaluated at the scene. There were no reports of injuries, and no students were taken to a hospital.
The driver of the passenger vehicle involved was taken to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries as a precaution.
Garcia says it was not immediately clear what school the students on the bus attend.
