School Bus Catches Fire On I-270 Near Rockville
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- Montgomery County fire officials say a school bus has caught fire near Rockville, but no injuries have been reported.
Fire department spokeswoman Beth Anne Nesselt says the fire occurred about 10:30 a.m. Monday in the southbound lanes of Interstate 270, between Route 28 and Montrose Road. Nesselt says there were no students on board, and the driver was not injured.
She says the engine of the bus was heavily involved with fire. Nesselt says the bus was on its way to be repaired at the time of the fire.
