Salisbury Man Charged With Making Bomb Threats To 2 Delaware Banks

SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Police in Newark, Del., have charged a Salisbury man with making bomb threats to two Newark banks in an effort to rob them.

Fifty-three-year-old Walter Aksamit is charged with robbery, attempted robbery and terroristic threatening. He is being held on $52,000 secured bail.

Police tell The Cecil Whig that about 8:50 a.m. on Wednesday, the Fulton Bank got a call that bombs had been placed throughout the bank and money should be placed outside the front door.

Police were called and an officer noticed a man on the street looking toward the bank. A search of his cell phone showed the bank was the last number dialed.

A similar crime occurred in January at the PNC Bank. Money was left outside the bank, a man took it and left.
