Russian Woman's Son Indicted In Her Death
TOWSON, Md. (AP) -- The son of a Russian woman whose body was pulled from the Chesapeake Bay more than two years ago has been indicted on a murder charge in her death.
Dmitry Pronin, 28, was named as a suspect in the death of his mother several months after her February 2011 disappearance. He is currently serving a 10-year federal prison sentence for a bank robbery in Delaware that happened just days after his mother's arrival in the United States.
Court records show Pronin was indicted in Baltimore County in July on charges including first-degree murder, and the indictment was unsealed last week.
His mother, Yulia Pogrebenko of Irkutsk, Russia, was visiting him and other relatives when she was reported missing. Her body was found in the Chesapeake Bay in June 2011.
