Rowdy Gaines On Michael Phelps In The U.S. Olympics
Baltimore (WJZ) -- Rowdy Gaines, three-time Olympic gold medalist and swimming analyst for NBC/ESPN, spoke on the Norris and Davis show about Michael Phelps and the upcoming Olympic Games.
Gaines spoke about 18-gold medal holder Michael Phelps' participation in the U.S. Swim Trials: "He was number one in the world in three different events last year. I expect him to do great in the trials. He could potentially swim six events in Rio so he'll have a busy program."
Gaines comments that Phelps seems so at peace with life, his legacy and and he feels like he is having fun again.
He also spoke about the threat of the Zika virus in Rio, Brazil: "Every single year they predict doom and gloom for the Olympic games and they all turn out fine. I think the same thing is going to happen in Rio. It's going to be just fine."
