Rocky Gap Casino Opens New Meeting Space
FLINTSTONE, Md. (AP) -- The Rocky Gap Casino near Cumberland says it has opened 5,000 square feet of new meeting space.
The Allegheny Event Center opened Thursday. It replaces some of the meeting space that was lost when owner Lakes Entertainment Inc. converted a 15,000-square-foot conference center into a gambling parlor.
The casino opened in May.
The company says the resort now offers more than 12,000 square feet of meeting space, including restaurants and bars.
The General Assembly required the Minnesota-based company to provide meeting space within three years of receiving its Maryland gambling license if the conference center was converted into a casino.
