Rob Long: Titans At Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens got what they needed Thursday night when the Cleveland Browns defeated the Cincinnati Bengals 24-3 in prime time. The Ravens did not get what they wanted hours before the game when word came out that corner back Jimmy Smith had season ending foot surgery. That's a huge blow to the defense but Smith would not have played this Sunday at M&T Bank Stadium anyway. His status was pretty certain. He was not going to play.
The Tennessee Titans are not a very good football team right now. The Titans are 2-6 and rank 27th in total team offense. The defense isn't that great either ranking 24th overall and they've given up over 1,000 yards rushing at 4.2 yards per carry. Teams have been able to sustains drives against the Titans on the ground.
You get my point? RUN THE BALL!!!
The Baltimore Ravens have had lots of success running the ball with Justin Forsett this year, when they've committed to the run. Let's let this week be one of those weeks. If that happens, the Ravens defense will stay fresh and the Titans defense will break down.
Ravens 31 Titans 14
