Rob Long: Hoping For A Broncos Upset Over Steelers
What to do, what to do? Now that the Baltimore Ravens have secured a two-seed in the AFC play-offs, folks around town are trying to figure out how to occupy their football weekend. We know what we want in the AFC, right, but what would you like to see in the NFC play-offs?
In the AFC, I'd love to see the Denver Broncos upset the Pittsbugh Steelers. I know, there's probably no way that will happen, but I am a fan of the Tim Tebow story and I would like to see him move on. Yeah, the Steelers being eliminated would be great as well.
The Houston Texans are a great story as well and T.J. Yates is getting it done on the field. Andre Johnson is healthy again and he could and should be a big factor in this game. Andy Dalton's recovering from the flu and the Bengals have been bad against good teams this year. The Texans win this game.
In the NFC, the New York Giants should win at home against a very inconsistent Atlanta Falcons. Then again, the Giants have been a model of inconsistency themselves. The Giants, however, win this game by less than a touchdown.
The Detroit Lions are back in the play-offs but their reward is going to New Orleans to play the Saints. This game could resemble my cousin Stanley and I going at one another in a game of Madden Football. I'm looking at both teams scoring in the lower to mid-30s with the Saints winning.
There you have it. Those are my predictions for the weekend. I have the Steelers, Bengals, Giants and Saints all advancing to the play-offs. That means the Pittsburgh Steelers will play the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium on January 15th.
