Rob Long: A Very Close Call
Before you knew it, the Baltimore Ravens were down 24-3 to the Arizona Cardinals. Yes, the Arizona Cardinals. A 1-5 team (now 1-6) from the dreaded NFC West. This just off the heels of losing to the 1-5 Jacksonville Jaguars. The same Jaguars that gave up 24 points to the Houston Texans managed to hold the Ravens to only 7 points.
The Ravens were looking like a team with their season on the line for the first half of the game. They looked like they couldn't get anything going. The passing game was horrendous and the running game wasn't getting it done either. To add to it, the special teams gave up a touchdown. The Baltimore Ravens were beginning to look like the Cleveland Browns.
Then, all of a sudden, the Baltimore Ravens' offense started to click. Joe Flacco was moved to the shotgun and they began to execute the no huddle and the "sugar" huddle that added tempo and the Ravens outscored the Cards 24-3. Basically, the second half looked like a Ravens/Cards game should have looked from the start.
Even with the win, the Ravens have a lot of work to do. They look as if they need to get on the same page from start to finish, not just at the finish.
