Rob Carlin Reviews Capitals Advancing Past Maple Leafs In Playoffs
Rob Carlin, analyst for Comcast Sportsnet Mid-Atlantic who hosts the pre and post game shows for the Washington Capitals game broadcasts, joined Ed and Rob to talk about the Capitals advancing past the Maple Leafs in the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
The Capitals are advancing to the semi-finals. Carlin said, "I think they set a record for the most overtime games in the first round of the playoffs...the Caps survive and now it's on to the biggest rival and nemesis the Caps have ever had."
When asked about the outlook for the upcoming series against the Penguins, and the doubters of the Capitals, Rob said, "people say if you struggle this much with Toronto how can you beat Pittsburgh, and it's the number 1 team playing the number 2 team in the second round...whatever. You wanna get through Pittsburgh. If you're going to go win it all you want to get by them to do it."
Next up for the Capitals, they take on the Penguins in the Conference Semi-Finals, game one of the series is 7:30 p.m. on Thursday night at the Verizon Center.
