Rich Gannon Previews This Weekends Ravens Game
CBS football Analyst Rich Gannon joins Scott, Jeremy, and Jason to dissect the Ravens vs. Colts matchup in Indianapolis this Sunday. Given both teams' early performances this season, it's easy for one to predict a shut out this Sunday in Indianapolis. "Offensively the Colts are a handful right now. They got both backs going, they have Reggie Wayne playing well, and of course Luck has been lights out. But the Ravens have been just as solid under Kubiak lately," said Gannon.
"What amazes me is how strong he's been in the pocket. One coordinator told me he reminds him of Ben Roethlisberger in the pocket and Peyton Manning under center," Gannon added.
Although the Colts' quarterback has been given high praise from multiple experts in the business this season, Gannon also sees flaws in the Colts' roster. "They're not very good up front," said Gannon. "Nobody wants to talk about that, Andre Luck masks a lot of it. They're not strong inside, and I think that's where they'll be vulnerable against the Ravens."
The trademark showcase of this Sunday's matchup is quite possibly the old men out wide for both teams. "I have great respect for the two 14 year vets we're going to see in this game. What they've accomplished, they do it in different ways though," said Gannon. "Reggie's more creative, but Steve is so physical. To still be this productive late in their careers, it's because they take great care of their legs."
Having said that, Gannon reinforced the Ravens' upper hand in the game. "I think you've got to temper your enthusiasm with [the Colts]. I don't think they're great on defense right now. Landry won't play, they miss Brock and Mathis, and that's where I think the Ravens can win this battle," said Gannon.
"I like where Baltimore is trending. With Flacco, you know this—he's going to have you in it near the finish line," Gannon added.
