Reward Raised In Md. Cemetery Vandalism Case
NEW MARKET, Md. (AP) -- A reward has been increased for information leading to an arrest in the vandalism of a cemetery in Frederick County.
Overseers for the New Market cemetery had originally posted a $500 reward. WTTG-TV in Washington reports that local businesses, fraternal organizations and individuals have pledged more money, increasing the reward total to $1,245.
About 20 headstones were knocked over, damaged or broken at the cemetery. The damage was discovered earlier this month, but it is unclear when it occurred.
