Retired County Fire Captain, Known As 'Baltimore Birdman,' Charged With Sexual Abuse Of Minor
PARKTON, Md. (WJZ)—A former Baltimore County Fire Department captain and well-known Ravens fanatic is charged with sexual abuse of a minor.
The alleged abuse happened from 2005 to 2008, but the victim did not come forward until recently--filing a report on Aug. 22.
Police say 64-year-old Gregory Hudnet, of Parkton, turned himself in around 7 p.m. Wednesday and has since been released on $750,000 bail.
Hudnet is accused of abusing the victim--a family member who alleges being abuse in the early teens--several times at various locations throughout Baltimore County.
An avid Ravens fan who calls himself the "Baltimore Birdman," Hudnet is known for his elaborate costume and the 1952 Buick he drives to Ravens games and other events.
Hudnet is charged with sexual abuse of a minor, third-degree sex offense, and sexual abuse of a minor - continuing course of conduct.
He last held the rank of captain when he retired from the Baltimore County Fire Department in 2008.
