Report On Annapolis Mansion Fire Delayed By Baltimore Unrest
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Authorities say a comprehensive report on a house fire that killed six people in January near Annapolis has been delayed for at least two months while federal agents investigate arsons that occurred during the unrest in Baltimore.
The Capital Gazette reports that investigators from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives had hoped to release a report in May detailing how an electrical fire engulfed a 15-foot Christmas tree inside the mansion.
However, ATF spokesman Dave Cheplak says the immediacy of the Baltimore riots took precedence.
The report has been delayed while agents subpoena news footage and investigate arsons during the Baltimore unrest.
The Jan. 19 fire killed Don and Sandra Pyle and their four grandchildren.
