Renovated Theater Renamed For John Astin
BALTIMORE (AP) -- A renovated theater at Johns Hopkins University has been renamed for actor John Astin, who has taught at the university since 2001.
The John Astin Theatre in the Merrick Barn was renamed Saturday. The Baltimore Sun reports that the 104-seat space recently underwent a $210,000 makeover.
Astin, who graduated from Hopkins in 1952, has been credited with revitalizing the university's theater program.
He starred as Gomez Addams in "The Addams Family" from 1964 to 1966.
Astin's close friend, actor Ed Asner, was at Saturday's renaming.
