What inspired you to enter family and marriage therapy and to start your own practice?

"I wanted to have an impact helping people improve their marriage and family life. I have always wanted to be an entrepreneur.  As a leader in my enterprise, I want people to see how important it is to have a 'customer service counter' for their personal relationships."

How does your educational background relate to your current role?

"I am a marriage and family therapist in private practice, so I use my education and degree every day!"

How has your education helped to further your career and contributed to your success?

"Having a great education in marriage and family therapy has been an incredible asset in helping me further my career as a therapist. I have also furthered my career by becoming a public speaker and by writing a book with my husband.  As a relationship expert, people are interested to learn about how to improve the success of their personal romantic relationships."

What is some advice you can offer others looking to go into your specialty field of therapy?

"Being in this field requires a lot of emotional energy and insight, but being a marriage and family therapist is very rewarding."
