Redskins Working Out With Ravens Jimmy Clausen & Marlon Brown
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Washington Redskins were unable to sign a long-term deal with their starting quarterback Kirk Cousins, and are on the lookout for future quarterbacks, and reports say they are trying out Baltimore Ravens' Jimmy Clausen.
Clausen was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the 2010 NFL Draft, played with the Chicago Bears and then came to the Ravens last season when Joe Flacco was injured. He started two games for the Ravens and completed 49 of 85 passes for 555 yards.
With Cousins set to play the 2016 season on the franchise tag and backup quarterback Colt McCoy under contract, Clausen would essentially be there just in case of emergency.
The Redskins are also reportedly worked out receiver Marlon Brown, as well as other pass-catchers.
