Exclusive: Ray Rice Live On 105.7 The FAN
Ravens running back Ray Rice joined the Scott Garceau Show to talk about the snowy Vikings game, the return of Dennis Pitta, the running game struggles this season & more.
Scott and Glenn started the conversation by asking Ray how he dealt with the weather conditions this past Sunday. "As far as the footing, my feet were mainly just cold...I think we were more worried about slipping and sliding than actually slipping and sliding."
The guys shifted over to talking about the return of Dennis Pitta. Ray had nothing but praise for his big tight end. "He has the skill set of a receiver with a big man's body...he's got a skill set that's just different." Ray went on to say that "he's a match-up problem" whether a corner is covering him or a linebacker. He poses a match-up problem no matter what.
Scott later asked how difficult it has been this year for him and the team to battle through the injury problems they have endured. Ray said that he had such a great start to his career that, "it was different, it was probably a blessing in disguise…you have to hit rock bottom for you to know how to bounce back. I needed that". He continued to say that the team went through the same thing and they have seemed to bounce back. "We had to hit rock bottom in order to feel what it's like to climb back...I'm glad the challenge never got too big for us."
