Trophies Not Included: Ray Lewis Puts Home On Market For $1.1M
OWINGS MILLS, Md. (WJZ) -- You can now own a piece of football history. Future Hall of Famer Ray Lewis has put one of his houses on the market.
As Jessica Kartalija explains, it can be yours for just over $1 million.
After Ray Lewis' retirement party/Super Bowl win, the former linebacker--now ESPN analyst--is lightening his load, putting his house in Owings Mills on the market.
"I don't think I have anywhere near the means to purchase that house," said Wes Muller, Perry Hall.
Lewis' home off Park Heights has a gourmet kitchen, sauna, steam shower and entertainment room. It can be yours for $1.1 million.
"If it's someone from Baltimore, if it's in their area and in their price range, I'd definitely show it," said Todd Nemeroff, realtor. "If they're a football fan, how can you not? People will want to go into it actually just to look at it."
Todd Nemeroff is an agent with Cummings and Company Realtors. He says potential buyers will likely be pre-screened before they can even see the home.
"At $1.1 million, when you are in that price range, your range of buyers is very small compared to $300,000-$400,000," he said.
The four-bedroom, four-bath house sits on more than two acres, has an Olympic size pool and two fireplaces. It's getting some heat for being a little outdated.
Bleacher Report calls the decor tacky, saying the living room looks like a scene straight out of Martin Scorsese's "Goodfellas."
"It might not be to everyone's taste, but you never know," said Nemeroff.
So, would you buy it because it's Ray's?
"If I had the money, I probably would. It might be more appealing," said Nicholas Lebouf, New Orleans.
Lewis bought the house in 1999 for $753,000.
The house also has a trophy room--trophies not included, of course.
