Ravens Wideout Michael Campanaro Checks In During The Bye Week
Michael Campanaro from The Baltimore Ravens joins The Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn and Jason La Canfora to discuss the Ravens bye week, his injury and Toys for Tots Charity event. Currently on the injured list due to a thigh injury in week 8 against Cincinnati after returning a punt, Campanaro hopes to be back after the bye week. When asked how he was feeling, he states, "Just been in there every day rehabbing. The bye week is coming at a great time for the team and myself." His attitude is positive and he says about being in the NFL, "It's been great, it's my job and its work, but I'm excited every day I wake up and I am enjoying my first season."
It is never too soon to learn the lesson each week that nothing is given to you. He started out his rookie year getting in the game and then unfortunately he was injured. Asked how he felt about it he says, "That's just football. Injuries are a part of the game." He has just been working hard and trying to get healthy. Prior to getting hurt in week 8, he had a highlight. In the Ravens game in week 4 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he scored his first touchdown. When he turned and saw Joe release the ball he knew he could make the play. "He [Joe] definitely put it right where he needed to." His family was there and it was a very special moment. He says a lot of his family were Redskins fans, but "once I got the call from Coach Harbaugh the whole family changed to the Ravens."
Campanaro is having Toys for Tots charity event at River Hill High School on Friday 5:15-6:30. They will be accepting donations or unwrapped toys. He will be signing autographs and the Ravens cheerleaders will be there as well. He states, "I've been looking forward to getting out there in the community." Get out there this Friday and give to the kids that are less fortunate.
