M&T Bank Stadium Hosts Sold-Out Crowd Of Purple Ladies
BALTIMORE (WJZ)—The Ravens may have had a chance to rest before Sunday's game, but some of their fans hit the field to gear up for the rest of the season.
Mary Bubala has more.
M&T Bank Stadium opens the gates to what has become "Ladies Night," a purple evening that caters to female Ravens fans.
The event includes a variety of activities that entertain the most avid and knowledgeable fans, as well as those who are just looking for a girls night out.
"Just to be with the other women and the Ravens and my girlfriend Donna," said Gloria Cooper-Blue, Ravens fan. "We are Baltimore City school teachers, and we needed to get out and support, have a good time."
The event also offers access to player autographs.
"I went into the locker room, and I saw Ray Rice," said one fan.
Some of the evening's highlights include on-field activities to run plays and drills like the actual Ravens do.
"Catching the passes, running the ball. I'm the next Joe Flacco," said Kim Parrish.
"That's right. Sign her up," said Laura Parrish.
And yes, sometimes there's an injury on the field.
"Well, you know I went for the spike and the dance, and it just didn't agree with me," said Shelley Reft, Ravens fan.
There are also football 101 sessions, fan forums and exclusive stadium access.
This year's purple evening was completely sold out. This was its fifth year. Tickets go on sale at the beginning of each season.
