Ravens Sign Cornerback Shareece Wright
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Ravens have re-signed pending free agent cornerback Shareece Wright to a three-year contract two days ahead of the market opening.
Wright was released by the San Francisco 49ers and then he got a call from his best friend of 14 years, Ravens cornerback Jimmy Smith and inevitably signed with the Ravens shortly after. So now, Wright will remain a Raven with his friend and high school teammate a little longer.
Wright started seven games and made 40 tackles last season. The Ravens had the league's best pass defense and second-best defensive overall (in total yards allowed) over the final eight regular season games.
Keeping Wright means the Ravens have more potential in the cornerback position.
