Ravens Show Thanks By Giving NOLA Police 2 New Motorcycles
NEW ORLEANS (WJZ) -- A gift for New Orleans' finest, courtesy of the world champion Baltimore Ravens.
Ravens wide receiver and New Orleans native Jacoby Jones presented two motorcycles to the New Orleans Police Department on behalf of the team Wednesday.
It was their way of saying thanks for a job well done during Super Bowl week.
"I always talk to my teammates about Southern hospitality, and the fact that it was on display enough during our Super Bowl week, to have the Ravens donate something to the great people of New Orleans is special," Jones said.
In the week leading up to Super Bowl XLVII, officers in the Big Easy provided the Ravens with round-the-clock protection, safely escorting the team to and from destinations.
"I want to thank the Ravens organization for this generous gift," said New Orleans Mayor Mitch Landrieu. "These two motorcycles will be a great addition to our fleet and will be a great reminder of the spectacular work done by NOPD during Super Bowl XLVII."
Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti purchased the Harley Davidson motorcycles.
The bikes are said to light up like Mardi Gras floats.
