Ravens Fire Sale Continues; Lose Cary Williams To Eagles
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- The Ravens part ways with another big name, while resigning several free agents.
Late Thursday afternoon cornerback Cary Williams signed a three-year contract to play in Philadelphia--the deal worth a reported $17 million.
Williams sent out a Twitter message, thanking Ravens fans for their support and saying Baltimore will always have a special place in his heart.
He's a Philadelphia Eagle now after four seasons with the Ravens, this last year being his career best.
Ravens GM Ozzie Newsome also announced Thursday the resigning of safety James Ihedigbo and cornerback Chris Johnson to one-year contracts.
Ihedigbo, a six-year veteran, posted 19 tackles (12 solo) and one sack for the Ravens during the 2012 campaign--his first in Baltimore.
Johnson, who was signed by the Ravens midway through the 2012 season, saw action in four regular season games (one start), posting seven solo tackles and one forced fumble.
