Ravens Fans Gearing Up For Fight With The Steelers
BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- It is a Purple Thursday! The Ravens are in Philadelphia as they prepare to take on the Eagles in their preseason opener.
Jessica Kartalija is following all the excitement around Baltimore. After a long lockout and a short but exciting offseason, fans can't wait to see what the Ravens look like on the field.
In just a few weeks, it will be a packed house as the Ravens take on their rival, the Pittsburgh Steelers.
It's the talk around town. The preseason opener against the Philadelphia Eagles has Ravens fans fired up!
At The Sports Shop at the Towson Towne Center, new Ravens gear makes its season debut.
"It's coming in every day, we are excited about it," said Mike Durham of The Sports Shop. "There's a lot of new women's stuff this year."
While fans may not be yelling "Heap" this year, they will be wearing the jersey. They're on sale, and although he no longer plays for the Ravens, people are still buying them.
"Todd Heap is a fan favorite and its sad that he's gone, but Dickerson may be the fan favorite in two months," Durham said.
"I'm looking forward to seeing the rookies and the new guys we have on the team to see how they look," said Ravens fan Kevin Cooke.
At the Fieldhouse in Canton...
"We've got all sorts of screens, and the projection screen so we are expecting a good turnout," said Jason Llerena of the Fieldhouse.
Food and drink specials are also expected to draw crowds as fans see the team in action for the first time.
'I'm hoping that we've got-- and we bring-- a strong D like we do every year, and Flacco, I think is going to have to lead the charge on offense and we'll have to see how the boys perform," said another Ravens fan.
The M & T Bank Stadium will be packed in just a few weeks as the Ravens take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sept. 11.
