Ravens Drop From Top 5 In 2016 NFL Draft
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Through week 16 of the NFL season, the Tennessee Titans own the No. 1 pick for the 2016 NFL Draft with the Cleveland Browns still in the mix for the top spot.
As of Sunday, after winning over the Steelers, the Baltimore Ravens dropped from the 4th pick to the 8th.
The Ravens are one of three teams at 5-10 heading into the week's final season, and there are three teams at 4-11. San Diego at No. 3 and Dallas at No. 4 are separated by just the slightest of margins in strength of schedule.
From a monetary standpoint, the difference in contract dollars from the No. 4 pick this past year and the No. 8 pick was just over $8 million. So the Ravens could be saving some money to make other moves.
For the NFL Draft, the first tiebreaker rule for teams with the same record is strength of schedule (SOS), the easier SOS earning the earlier selection.
