Rains Cause Flooding In Ocean City And Salisbury
SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Heavy rainfall has caused streets to flood in low-lying parts of Ocean City and downtown Salisbury.
WBOC-TV reports that floodwaters north Ocean City have started to recede, but that the resort city is expected to see more showers through the early afternoon.
Meanwhile, in Salisbury, police are asking residents to avoid driving in the city Thursday afternoon. The Daily Times of Salisbury reports that authorities are helping stranded motorists.
Fitzwater Street near the Wicomico River is impassable due to flooding. Areas of Route 13 and side streets are also experiencing flooding.
On Wednesday, heavy rains caused the roof of the Carriage House building downtown to collapse.
