Quick Hits: Orioles, Capitals, Big East
Every team in Major League Baseball has at least 10 losses, except one: your Baltimore Orioles are sporting the league's best record and return home to the Charm City to face the team with the second best record -- the Texas Rangers -- as the two begin a 4-game set at the yard. Brian Matusz can double his win total from last year with a win Monday night. Matt Harrison starts for Texas. Game time is 7:05 p.m.
The Washington Capitals series with the top seeded Rangers is looking a lot like their quarterfinal match-up with the Bruins: a 2-2 tie after 4 games and heading on the road for game 5. The Capitals won that game 5 in the first round and they will try to do it again Monday at Madison Square Garden. Face-off is at 7:30p.m.
In college news, Big East commissioner John Marinatto resigned Monday. Joseph Bailey, who is the former CEO of the Dolphins and Administrative VP of the Cowboys, will take over on an interim basis. The Big East is losing three of its founding members within the next year in West Virginia, Pittsburgh and Syracuse.
And down in D.C., Redskins Head Coach Mike Shanahan has named Robert Griffin III as the team's number one starter. The former Heisman trophy winner was drafted number two overall late last month.
