Quick Hits: Orioles, Capitals And Kansas State
The Orioles are back in action Tuesday against the Twins in Sarasota, Fla. Suyoshi Wada is on the mound for the Orioles and Anthony Swarzak takes the ball for Minnesota. The Orioles have also unveiled new renovations to Camden Yards which include a new centerfield rooftop deck with a bar.
The Capitals will put their season on the line Tuesday as they face off against the Buffalo Sabres at the Verizon Center. Both teams are tied with 84 points with the Caps holding the tie breaker for the 8th and final playoff spot. The Caps are just 3 points behind Florida for first place in the Southeast Division. Face-off is 7 p.m.
Frank Martin is leaving Kansas State for South Carolina. Martin took the K-State Wildcats to 4 NCAA Tournaments in 5 years. He signs a six-year contract to take over the Gamecocks, who finished dead last in the SEC this year.
And Nick Saban is now the highest paid coach in college football. The Alabama Board of Trustees approved a two-year extension for Saban who will make $5.32 million in 2012 with a $50,000 raise next year and $100,000 annually after that.
