Pugh Files For Democratic Mayoral Primary; Stokes Never Showed
BALTIMORE (AP) -- State Sen. Catherine Pugh filed as a candidate in the Baltimore Democratic mayoral primary, but Councilman Stokes is a no-show.
Stokes had said he would be at the Board of Elections around 11 a.m. Tuesday to file in the mayor's race, but after the 9 p.m. deadline, officials said he had not filed. His volunteer coordinator did not return a call seeking comment.
Pugh is one of several candidates challenging Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake. Former Greater Baltimore Board of Realtors Vice President and Councilman Joseph T. "Jody" Landers, former city planning director and Sheila Dixon chief of staff Otis Rolley, perennial candidate Circuit Court Clerk Frank Conaway and nurse Wilton Wilson have filed for the Democratic primary.
One Republican, Vicki Ann Harding, has filed.
