Protests Planned During Baltimore's New Year's Festivities
BALTIMORE (AP) -- Protests are planned during New Year's Eve festivities in downtown Baltimore to call attention to alleged police misconduct.
Baltimore Bloc is calling for people to gather at the Inner Harbor around 11 p.m. Thursday to mourn the loss of 12-year-old Tamir Rice, who was fatally shot by a Cleveland police officer. A grand jury declined to indict the officer involved.
A group of activists is also planning a candlelight vigil to remember all those lost this year and a countdown for justice at the bottom of Federal Hill at 10:45 p.m.
