Progress Continues On Restoring Power To 16 BCPS Schools
TOWSON, Md. (WJZ) – Sixteen Baltimore County public schools remained without power Wednesday afternoon as efforts continue to restore operations at all schools affected by last Friday's storm.
Progress has been steady throughout the week in bringing all schools back online.
"The staff in our Department of Physical Facilities is doing an outstanding job in working with BGE to get power restored and to clean up our school grounds," said Dr. S. Dallas Dance, superintendent.
All schools and school offices will be closed for the Independence Day holiday.
Assessments will continue to determine if the power outages will affect any schools for the remainder of this week and for summer school classes, which begin Monday, July 9.
Schools and office sites scheduled to be closed on Thursday include Campfield Early Childhood Center, Fort Garrison Elementary, Franklin High, Halstead Academy, Hebbville Elementary, Milbrook Elementary, Pikesville High, Powhatan Elementary, Rodgers Forge Elementary,Sudbrook Magnet Middle, Towson High, Victory Villa Elementary, Winand Elementary, Windsor Mill Middle, Winfield Elementary and Woodholme Elementary.
