Police Search For Escaped Prisoner In Annapolis
ANNAPOLIS, Md. (WJZ)— Police are searching for Bonrick Barksdale, 25, who remains at large after escaping from the Annapolis District Court Thursday.
Barksdale was there for a bail review on a fugitive-from-justice warrant stemming from charges in North Carolina when he overpowered a corrections guard and fled the building.
The Anne Arundel Sheriff's Office, county police, city and state police are searching for him in the area of the courthouse, the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and the Admiral Heights community.
He was last seen wearing a green county detention jumpsuit and no shoes, but may have had other clothes on underneath those. He is 5'9", 150 pounds, with short black hair and a small goatee.
Barksdale had been facing several charges, including kidnapping and attempted rape. His long criminal record includes two active cases (one in Annapolis District Court and one in Glen Burnie District Court).
His last known residence was in Annapolis.
