Prince George's Schools Being Assessed After Quake
UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) -- Prince George's County officials say 32 schools will remain closed for ongoing structural assessments following the East Coast earthquake.
Officials say that after an initial review, the 32 schools were determined to require further review and will be closed Thursday.
Schools Superintendent William Hite Jr. says officials are working as quickly as possible to get the building inspections completed.
The other schools in the district are open and operating on a normal schedule.
In Washington, Mayor Vincent Gray said one school will remain closed for the rest of the week for needed repairs.
