Prince George's Officer Dies In Car Accident
CLINTON, Md. (AP) -- A Prince George's County police officer injured in a car accident has died.
Police say Kevin Bowden, a six-year department veteran, died Thursday at Southern Maryland Hospital in Clinton.
Officers say Bowden, 28, was off duty and driving his marked cruiser in Clinton around 3:05 p.m. Thursday at Branch Avenue and Surratts Road. The cruiser collided with another car, forcing the cruiser into a pole.
The driver of the other car was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The accident comes two months after a fatal collision involving another county police officer, Adrian Morris, who died in August after his police cruiser ran off the highway and crashed during the chase of a suspect.
