Prince George's Co. Police Arrest Man Posing As NFL Quarterback
BALTIMORE (WJZ)-- Imposter busted. For months, people around Maryland and Washington, D.C. reported strange requests from a man they thought was a professional football player. Now, that Prince George's County phony faces felony charges.

Before his arrest, police say Stephan Pittman, 33, claimed he was a Philadelphia Eagles football star, scamming people out of their money.
"He's charged with first-degree fraud, and it's our understanding through a 28-year-old woman who lives in the district, that this gentleman, Mr. Pittman, was posing as the NFL quarterback Vince Young," said Julie Parker, spokeswoman for Prince George's County.
Prince George's County Police say Pittman-- who is a registered sex offender-- conned a D.C. woman into giving him $2,500. Investigators say he promised the money was for charity.
"He said that he needed money to help D.C.-area children to buy things like hula hoops, and bikes," Parker said. "So he convinced her to give him a fair amount of money."
Detectives were alerted to the scam by Young's real agent, who discovered the imposter showed up to charity events for children posing as the player. Pittman's neighbors are stunned.
"I grew up with him and I've never heard of him being involved with the law like that," said one.
Through a spokeswoman, Vince Young says he is "thrilled by the arrest." Both men are about the same height and weight.
