Pre-Trial For Officer Charged With 'Depraved Heart Murder' In Freddie Gray Case Begins Monday
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- Pre-trial proceedings and jury selection for Officer Caesar Goodson, who faces a second-degree depraved heart murder charge in the Freddie Gray case, begin next week.
Goodson was the driver of the van that transported Gray from the spot where he was arrested to the police station. When the van arrived at the Western District police station, Gray was already critically injured and unresponsive.

A motions hearing begins at 9:30 a.m. on June 6 and jury selection begins at 9:30 a.m. on June 7.
Goodson also faces charges of manslaughter, second-degree assault, two counts of vehicular manslaughter and misconduct in office.
Officer Edward Nero, the first of the six charged officers to receive a verdict, was found not guilty on all counts by Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Barry Williams on May 23.
Officer William Porter's trial ended in a hung jury and mistrial in December. He will be retried in September.

Three other officers -- Officer Garrett Miller, Lt. Brian Rice, Sgt. Alicia White -- have not yet been tried.
