Powerball Jackpot Raised To $550 Million
BALTIMORE (WJZ)— Saturday night's Powerball Jackpot has swelled to $550 million.
The cash option is now $350.1 million.
The Powerball Jackpot has rolled 13 times since early April and has become the 3rd largest jackpot in U.S. history.
Since Powerball began in Maryland in 2010, there have been two in-state jackpot winners.
On Christmas Eve 2011, a Pennsylvania couple purchased a $128.8 million winning ticket from Wesley's in Elkton.
Prior to that, in September of the same year, an Abingdon couple took home a $108.8 winning ticket purchased at Wine World in Abingdon.
The largest ever Powerball Jackpot, $587.5 million, was claimed by a family in Missouri and a man who chose to remain anonymous in Arizona.
The more recent multi-state jackpot win in Maryland took place in February, when a Mt. Airy couple won $26 million playing Mega Millions.
