The Numbers Are In! Powerball Has Record Jackpot Saturday
BALTIMORE (WJZ) -- One in 175 million. Those are the odds of you winning Saturday night's Powerball game. Tickets are selling steadily and the record jackpot sits at an astronomical $600 million.
Tim Williams has more.
Here's the question: how much money do you need to be happy?
"I need about $800,000 and I'll be good," said Jamie from Canton.
For most, winning Saturday night's $600 million Powerball jackpot is key to enjoying life's pleasures.
"Go on a massive world trip with my friends," said Holly from Fells Point.
Or solving life's problems.
"I would try and give it to some of Dr. Carson's charities and children's education charities," said Elizabeth from Colorado.
Or maybe deciding how your life would change.
"I don't know. As soon as I hit, I'll let you know," said Angelo from the Eastern Shore.
Nationwide sales pushed this jackpot to a record-breaking $600 million. It is the largest Powerball jackpot ever and is also the second-largest multi-state jackpot in United States history.
"It's fantastic. There's a small chance but like they say, `If you don't buy a ticket, you don't have a chance,''" said Nestor from Canton.
As for your chance of winning, it's now about one in 175 million. If you want the lump sum, the cash option is now $376.9 million.
"I will quit my job first of all," said Ian from Canton.
Which brings us back to the initial question.
"I could win a million and be happy," said Michael.
Ticket sales end approximately one hour before drawing time.
The winning numbers are 10, 13, 14, 22, 52 with a Powerball number of 11.
