Power Briefly Disrupted At Md.'s Fort Detrick
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- The Army says the power is back on at Fort Detrick in Frederick after a blown transformer briefly disrupted electricity to parts of the installation.
Spokesman Chuck Gordon says back-up generators powered the affected areas after the electrical failure at about 2 p.m. Monday.
Gordon says the transformer explosion caused a fire at an electrical substation. He says the Fort Detrick Fire Department quickly brought the blaze under control.
Gordon says the incident is under investigation.
