Potential Landing Spots For NFL Free Agents
Ryan Wilson of CBS Sports joined the Scott Garceau Show with Jeremy Conn to take a look at where some NFL Free Agents could end up, and some moves teams could make in the NFL Draft.
With the big news of the day being Adrian Peterson' reinstatement into the NFL, Ryan commented on the situation with the Vikings running back. "The good news for him is the federal judge today reversed what the NFL had their suspension from back in November so he is free to join and return to the NFL, whether that's in Minnesota is another issue...Jason La Canfora, our buddy 0ver at CBS Sports, mentioned that earlier in the week Peterson's agent got into a verbal altercation with one of the Vikings front office guys at the combine and they had to be separated. It sounded like that AP wasn't coming back to Minnesota, he was unhappy with how he had been treated in the whole process."
With the NFL league year flipping the calendar on March 10, Ryan commented on some veterans who have been cut from their teams over the past couple of days, and how challenging it will be for those players to find work.
"When big names are cut fans are like 'Where does this guy fit into our team?' I think you're right when you get to be 29 or 30 in general and unless you are a quarterback or a kicker, you're on the downside of your career. Reggie Bush is 31 and I think he was supposed to make 3.5 million next year, and the Lions thought that was too steep. So that's a concern because that is not a lot of money. Will he sign for it, yeah. It will probably be close to the veteran minimum, I can't imagine he gets a big number deal, but some teams could find some value there."
