Postal Service To Close Frederick Plant In January
FREDERICK, Md. (AP) -- The U.S. Postal Service says it will close its Frederick mail-processing center in January.
The Frederick News-Post reports that workers were told Wednesday the Frederick operations will be moved to Baltimore along with some of the 187 affected workers. Other workers will be reassigned to jobs in the region.
The Postal Service says the move will save it $4.2 million a year.
The service said in February it was considering closing the processing center because of declining revenue.
