Police: Woman Charged After Trying To Hit Security Officer At Walter Reed With Car
ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A Virginia woman is being held without bond after police say she tried to drive her car into a security officer outside Walter Reed Hospital in Bethesda.
Angela Akosua Cobbold is due back in court Oct. 31. She's being held pending a psychiatric evaluation.
Cobbold is charged with first-degree assault.
Police say Cobbold struck another car with her vehicle while trying to make a U-turn Tuesday at an entrance gate of the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Police say she drove away and later tried to run over a security officer with her car. The officer shot at the Cobbold's car, but she wasn't injured. She was taken into custody after crashing her car at a construction zone.
